That’s not how you end a hockey season.

I thought the Rangers would get the series to Game 6 and ultimately lose. The Penguins were coming into the playoffs with the momentum and focus that I didn’t think the Rangers would overcome in the end (there was also no chance that NY would be able to beat the Capitals if they did manage to make it to Round 2). I was right in the end, but I didn’t think it would end in a collapse.

It’s not too shocking considering this season has been a rollercoaster ride of peaks and valleys for the Rangers. It was often hard to watch. These long stretches where the team just forgot how to play hockey and the special teams never improved. They ended their season with the wheels falling off, I can’t even look at the scores for this series. This is the fastest out the Rangers have had in a few years. I hope they fix things in the offseason (a lot of changes need to be made, but I want them to lock down JT Miller, he’s going to be a monster) and come back strong and healthy for 2016-2017.

I expect the Capitals to win the Cup. They’re overdue to win after getting cut short in the last 2 seasons. Flyers are putting up a fight right now but I don’t think they’ll overcome and the Penguin v Cap series should be fantastic. These are some intense playoffs league wide. Chicago might not punch back the Blues hard enough. Eastern conference, I’m leaning toward Caps v NYI right now. Looking at the West, I’m not too sure. San Jose is my current pick, but I can’t see a clear opponent for them to battle it out to make it the Cup Finals. The Ducks and the Stars are monsters in their own right and the Blues are doing everything they can to drop last years champion. There’s still like a month to go, so we’ll see.

The Cannonball Loop

New Jersey is full of urban legends, Action Park being one of them. But it’s not a legend, that place was real and it was CRAZY. Not in the good way. It was a water park built on a ski resort that had little to do with safety in mind when it was built. It’s hard to believe that the place was allowed to be opened let alone in use for nearly 20 years. I mean, people showed up every summer despite 6 deaths and countless injuries (mostly ripped flesh). The stories about the place were rampant and often exaggerated, but most of it had a true story behind it. It got the name “Traction Park” for a real reason. They advertised the shit out of the place too.

Cannonball Loop is the most notorious. And dangerous. I went to Action Park once, but drove by it a lot as it was on the way to my grandma’s house. I vividly remember seeing it there, long since closed. It was something that looked like it never should have been built, there was just no way it could work. I also remember wondering why there was no pool at the end of it, just this plot of land. It was like a torture device that was just left to rot. That article explains it. I remember getting a weird vibe from the place too, it just didn’t feel like a safe place. A lot of rickety construction, literal holes of water that had been turned into “rides” by putting a plank and a rope swing over a 20 foot drop. The place was a dump, I mean they left Cannonball Loop standing because it would have cost money to send it back to hell. I haven’t even mentioned the Alpine (read: concrete) Slide. That thing messed people up.

More in depth horror here! You have to read it to believe it.

UPENN Stupidity

This story has absolutely blown up this week and is just hard to believe grown men in a position of power and leadership could be so fucking stupid.

Now all the facts aren’t out, the path of what happened in the passed 15 years (!) on this alleged creep, Jerry Sandusky, aren’t entirely known. It’s safe to say that the complete story is going to come out in the next few months and is going to be much worse and even more mindboggling.

This has nothing to do with football.

Without rambling on too much (there is a ton to this) and to get to my real point, how did this not stop at Mike Mcqueary’s shower sodomy discovery? There’s a hierarchy at that school and mental path that I can’t wrap my head around. From what I’ve read, Sandusky had the heat turned on him for some similar shady allegations in the late 90’s that ended up fizzling out with the authorities. It was about a year later that he retired. 3 years later is when Mcqueary caught him violating the boy. Mcqueary then calls his dad and LEAVES? He does nothing to help the kid? The next day he tells head coach JoePa (and I’m not sure what kind of detail he went into with Joe). Joe goes up a level in the school administration, which ends up going to the president of UPenn. At no time were the cops called. The “punishment” for Sandusky was that he could not bring kids on campus anymore. What? This monster was skipping around campus as of last week! Somewhere in that chain of events and executive decision some things really went wrong.

I absolutely agree that the men who did nothing to stomp this monster out of the public and into a jail cell should be shown the door. For some reason it looks like the media is focusing mostly on JoePa, which I don’t agree with. Let’s point the brunt of the burners on Sandusky (how the hell did this guy get BAIL? He’s not a risk to the public?!) Mcqueary is a dumb son of a bitch as far as I can tell. UPenn is suppossed to have the utmost pride and ethic code around, it’s insane this happened.

Why did Mcqueary think that his bosses were the authority on a heinous crime? Was he afraid of losing his job for outing a pedophile? At the very least couldn’t he have made an annomous 911 (or campus security) call to get the cops to come and investigate? How did he do NOTHING to help the boy? This just just makes him an accomplice along with the rest of the administration that was told and did nothing.

I don’t understand what the end game of their thinking was. How could not going to the cops and getting Sandusky locked up be bad? They thought this would never come out and be a million times worse? This is Freddy Krueger territory! There are 8 known victims as of now, possibly reaching into other states! They could easily have just oust Sandusky and say they had no clue what he was hiding for all these years. THAT is how you protect your industry, school, reputation, faculty, staff and students. We found out and acted immediately to one of the biggest crimes in society. He doesn’t represent the school, we cooperate with the cops to get all this under control etc. It becomes a story of one heinous individual who got caught and stopped by sane human beings and not a napalm bomb years later. Each on of the men with their heads on the chopping block would a)not be arrested and/or b) fired! JoePa could coach for as long as his heart desired and not have his legacy ruined in a trainwreck of national and world news coverage. Sandusky went on to hurt more kids!

What happened?

Somebody wasn’t paying attention

The camera guy had to have set Palin up, there is no other way.

Jump to about 2:30 to get to the point. This stupid turkey pardoning ritual that goes down every Thanksgiving season is enough as it is. But this is just a whole new level as Dumbell Palin gives a post interview outside of the turkey pen only to blabber on right in front of turkeys being slaughtered for food! Look at the guy holding the turkey upside down as the gore pours out of the stupid thing! “Am I on TV? Are they getting this shit? I can’t be in frame….am I? They wouldn’t do that. Nah, they wouldn’t.”

She’s still the butt of a joke even when she’s completely irrelevant now.
